Salbutamol/albuterol and anxiety.

I just got albuterol for my asthma. Would it help at all with my difficulty breathing during panic or anxiety attacks?

I know that a side effect of albuterol is increased heart rate, but my heart rate doesn’t increase much until a couple of minutes after I start to have difficulty breathing.

So, basically, is the difficulty breathing during panic/anxiety attacks caused by (a?) broncospasm?

(I would have asked the consulting pharmacist, but I was having a small panic attack from being around so many people. )
